Typology Brief | Final Outcome!

Following the development of the illustrations themselves, I went on to planning the arrangement for the final result.

I found scale and placement quite difficult, and I think in future I will have to take more time with this and consider the space more. I ended up creating a handful of plans on scrap paper, trying to fit all 26 images on to a single page.

Details..

Overall I am quite happy with this outcome. I added very slight washes of grey just to prevent the lines from looking too empty, however I'm not sure how well this worked out. The end arrangement ended up better than I had anticipated, with most of the images interlocking slightly and not being too cramped.

If I could go back, I would rework the title (very slightly out of line) and captions. But that may just be because I've looked at the poster for a lengthy amount of time and have began to scrutinise it.

During the feedback session people raised some good points. A few of the improvements mentioned included developing the title, or thinking about how it sits on the page beside the illustrations. Also, it was mentioned that as I have used a variation of line styles and qualities, would I think about limiting this to create a more cohesive set of images?

It was nice to hear that people were interested in the subjects on the poster, and could see that I researched this topic broadly as I enjoyed doing so.
