Bradford Cox, frontman of Deerhunter. You can see the concept map here
Although this map mainly references musical influences, there is also a number of visual inspirations noted down. I like the handwritten quality, as well as the vibrant colours. I'm also fond of the personal feeling this map has to it, as you get to see what this person likes and enjoys.
Bertillon was a bio-metrics researcher for law enforcement identification systems, before fingerprinting was widely implemented. I chose this image because I think the subject matter work very well together as a collection; despite all being the same thing, each have distinct differences.
William Grill | Mountain typology
I think that for a typology design to work well, in most cases there has to be a common thread that ties all of the illustrations together. Not just in terms of theme, but in technique, colour scheme, materials used, etc. I think this example is effective because it is visually cohesive.
