Fanart Poster | Final Print

Despite the troubles I had at the Photoshop stage, the actual printing process went pretty smoothly. Having only done screenprinting once before I was hesitant to start, however doing multiple trials on plain cartridge paper was very helpful and I eventually became used to the steps of printing.

When mixing my colours, I selected slightly more muted shades of red and blue than those in my digital positives. I printed with a lightened cobalt blue, and a slightly off raspberry colour (mixing magenta, red, and a small amount of white).

I opted for lighter colours hoping that the areas of overlap would be more visible, which I think they are.

Overall I'm more pleased with the outcome than I thought I would be! In some ways, I think I could have been bolder with my composition, and maybe introduced larger blocks of colour for more impact. Experimenting with multiple colours, and more overlapping elements is something I'd like to look into for when I next screenprint.

I'd also like to observe the difference between hand-drawn and digital positives, as each could bring different qualities to a print.
