Fanart Poster | Part 2


it's him, it's the man...

I scanned my line drawings (layered on tracing paper) into photoshop, arranged them in a basic compositon before making a more detailed / refined version of the line work on top.



I'm happy with the digital line drawing, however I think it could easily become too comic book-ish and it's not something I want to aim for. It took me a while to figure out how I could move away from the heavy use of line, as I found it quite intense-looking, and it would be difficult considering the print format.

I eventually tried blocking out shapes, with lines indicated by overlapping colours and erasing small sections of them.


This is my finished design made for my screenprint positives. I'm fairly pleased with it, but feel some areas could have been made more visually interesting with the use of textures, or more areas of overlapping colours. I spent an aaaaaawfully long time making this and I'm not sure that it shows, but it's done.


Separate layers for each colour, ready to be prepared for printing.
